Life is made up of the every day simple things

One thing I've learned over the years is that happiness is made up of the every day simple things. If you wait until some large event happens to you to be happy, you'll have missed all the small stuff on the ride. You could have been happy every single day. Instead, you're happy upon finally achieving that goal. My guess is that it might even have been an empty feeling.

Here are some of simple things we love:
  • Having a toasty house and a favorite blanket on a stormy day.
  • A spiderweb covered in dew on the car in the morning.
  • The feel of the breeze on our face when the wind kicks up.
  • How silly the cat looks carrying a mouse in his mouth while he trots down the street.
  • How it feels to beat your time running a mile after practicing.
  • The memories we share from seeing the world together on a daily basis. The kind where you say "Remember when when our tow truck ran out of gas?".
  • Freshly washed sheets.
Look around you, notice the simple stuff.
